About
We built the tool we wished existed
Gridscouter is built by experienced project developers who have worked across Europe over multiple assets. When we started, there was no single place that showed the grid, the land and the constraints together — so we built the screening tool we wished we'd had on day one.
Who we are
Experienced project developers
We have each spent years bringing energy infrastructure projects to life in Europe — on the ground, in permitting rooms and in front of grid operators.
Across multiple assets
Battery storage, solar PV, onshore wind and energy-hungry loads such as data centers. Different assets, different buyers, but the same first question: is there a connection point and land here worth pursuing?
A broad European network
We work across borders and know the people who matter in each market: landowners, municipalities, contractors, EPCs, funds and developers. That network shapes what we include, and how fast we can add a market.
The problem we kept hitting
Every new market started the same way, and most of it was manual work that had nothing to do with developing projects:
- Downloading TSO maps and stitching them into a GIS project we could actually read.
- Driving to substations with a phone in one hand and a cadastral map in the other.
- Re-checking the same constraints by hand for every site: flood, protected nature, heritage, noise distance.
- Waiting weeks for a capacity answer that would have changed which sites we pursued at all.
Most of what you need to know about a site is buried in registers nobody has joined up, split across sources that disagree, or simply held by people who have already worked the area. Gridscouter brings it onto one map, scores the connection points, and lets you screen a plot in minutes instead of weeks.
What we bring to your screening
Where to look
We know which registers, plans and portals actually carry weight in each market — and which of them are out of date. Most of what a screening needs is buried, fragmented, or held by someone who has already worked the area.
What matters
Voltage and distance are the easy part. The sites that win are the ones where land, constraints and timing line up. That's what our scores are built to surface, market by market.
Who to ask
Our network across landowners, municipalities, contractors and investors means we know quickly whether a shortlisted site is worth a call — and we built the tool so you can find that out yourself first.
Where this is going
- More countries, added where our network asks for them.
- The project marketplace: anonymous listings for sellers and buyers who want an introduction rather than a public listing.
- Team features — shared shortlists, exports and an API for funds and multi-country teams.
If you're a developer, fund or advisor working across markets, we'd rather build the next feature with you than for you. Tell us what you screen for and what's missing.
