Denmark's grid to 2031: the west-coast 400 kV line, Kassø–Trige and Bornholm

Energinet's big grid projects will move where new solar, wind and batteries can connect. What the west-coast line, Kassø–Trige upgrade and Bornholm energy island mean for developers.

The projects

Energinet is completing a new 400 kV line along the Jutland west coast, upgrading the Kassø–Trige corridor, expanding Endrup station and preparing the Bornholm energy island connection. Together they add transmission capacity exactly where most new renewables are planned.

What it means for siting

Substations along these corridors are likely to gain capacity over the coming years, but timing is uncertain and others will target them too. A site that is weak today may become strong after reinforcement — and a site that looks free now may be full by then.

Watch it on the map

Gridscouter's timeline shows planned grid projects year by year, so you can see which substations change before you commit to land.

Gridscouter scores are estimates from open map data, not grid operator capacity figures. Always confirm capacity with Energinet or the local grid company.

Every Gridscouter plan starts with 14 days of full access for €0 today. Cancel any time before the trial ends and you pay nothing.
