The short version
Gridscouter's Spain forecast includes the 2 GW undersea link from Gatika to France, the Francisco Pizarro solar expansion in Extremadura, Iberdrola's battery build-out, a Meta data center in Talavera de la Reina and reinforcement of the Balearic grid.
Grid
The Gatika converter station near Bilbao connects Spain to France with far more capacity than today. Red Eléctrica also plans to strengthen the links to Mallorca and Menorca.
Demand
Large data centers around Madrid and Castilla-La Mancha add new demand near solar-rich areas.
