Best BESS, solar, wind and data center sites in Croatia
Top-ranked substations in Croatia for battery storage, solar, wind and data centers, with suggested sizes and the logic behind each score.
Over 200 scored substations
Gridscouter scores more than 200 Croatian substations of 110 kV and above for each technology, using voltage, connected lines, nearby renewables, terrain and distance to towns.
Battery storage
TS Ernestinovo leads at 99/100, with a suggested 295 MW / 590 MWh. It is one of Croatia's strongest 400 kV hubs, linking to Hungary and Serbia. TS Konjsko near Split and TS Bilice near Šibenik follow, both close to Dalmatian wind and solar.
Solar
TS Ernestinovo also leads for solar (89/100, about 260 MWp): flat Slavonian farmland next to a strong grid node.
Wind
TS Konjsko leads at 92/100 (about 290 MW). Dalmatian ridges already host most Croatian wind farms, and Konjsko collects much of that power.
Data centers
TS Tumbri near Zagreb leads at 87/100 (about 265 MW), close to the capital and to seven existing data centers.
Land
Paid plans add land patches around the top sites with links to satellite view and the Croatian cadastre. Gridscouter scores are estimates built from open map data, not grid operator capacity figures. Always confirm connection capacity with the grid operator.
