Battery storage permitting in Romania: a checklist
The main steps and checks for a battery storage project in Romania.
Before you start
Check distance to the substation, flood risk, Natura 2000 areas, heritage zones and distance to homes.
Main steps
Get an urbanism certificate, the technical connection permit (ATR), the environmental decision and the building permit. Farmland may need to be taken out of agricultural use first.
Land
Check parcels in the ANCPI cadastre and secure land with a lease or surface right.
