Overview

Romania is building new 400 kV lines to carry wind and solar power from Dobrogea and the Black Sea coast towards Bucharest and the rest of the country.

Key grid projects

The Black Sea corridor adds lines such as Cernavodă – Stâlpu and Smârdan – Gutinaș. In the west, the 400 kV ring from Porțile de Fier to Arad is being completed.

Energy projects

Large solar parks are being built on former coal sites in Oltenia, while EU recovery funds support new battery storage.
