Sweden's planned grid and energy projects to 2031

Svenska kraftnät's north–south reinforcements, the Hansa PowerBridge and the wind build-out shaping Sweden's grid.

Overview

Sweden produces most of its power in the north but uses most of it in the south. Svenska kraftnät is building new 400 kV lines between bidding zones SE2 and SE3 and in the south-east.

Key projects

The NordSyd programme reinforces the north–south corridor, a new south-east 400 kV link strengthens SE4, and Hansa PowerBridge is planned to connect SE4 with Germany.

Note

Gridscouter scores are estimates from open map data, not grid operator capacity figures. Confirm connection capacity with the grid operator.
