Data centers in the Netherlands: power, policy and locations
Where the Netherlands' 168 mapped data centers are, the national hyperscale policy, and how grid congestion affects new projects.
Where they are
Amsterdam and the Haarlemmermeer area host most data centers, with large campuses in Middenmeer, Eemshaven and Groningen.
Policy
National rules restrict new hyperscale data centers to a few locations. Many municipalities around Amsterdam also limit growth.
Power
Grid congestion means new campuses may wait years. Gridscouter scores are estimates from open map data, not grid operator capacity figures. Confirm connection capacity with the grid operator.
